MADISONVILLE, Ky. (7/24/14) — Kentucky State Police arrested a Madisonville man on drug and firearm charges upon the execution of a search warrant at approximately 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 23.
According to a KSP report, when Trooper Bob Winters, Sgt. Tim Sales and Det. Carlo Anderson executed the warrant at the Red Cardinal Inn in Madisonville, they located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the room of Derek L. Harr, 33.
Officers also located a stolen handgun on Red Cardinal Inn property. Three additional firearms were recovered from a different location. All the guns recovered were stolen during a burglary earlier in the day from a Wesco Drive residence, the report said.
Trooper Winters charged Harr with first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; possession of drug paraphernalia; tampering with physical evidence; and, first-degree burglary. Harr was arrested without incident and is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail, the report said.He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
