“After 21 and half years, I can't believe this day is here,” said Enlow. “It’s time for me to pass the torch … I have some endeavors to pursue. I have been proud to be a member of this department. It’s been an honor. I want to thank both chief and the mayor for allowing me to achieve my personal goals. I have enjoyed serving this community. I haven’t done too badly for a poor boy from southern Indiana.”
Enlow said his love for the streets of Madisonville will always remain and he hopes he was able to accomplish two things while in service.
“My heart will always remain on the street,” said Enlow. “There are two things I hope I have been able to accomplish in my career… I hope I have helped someone in the community and made their life a little bit better. Secondly, I worked with everyone here in some capacity and I hope I was able to help them professionally and personally. I have enjoyed this more than anyone will ever know, and I would do it all over again.”
Enlow said he will be spending a lot of his retirement time fishing.
“I am taking a two-month sabbatical and spending most of my time fishing,” said Enlow. “After that, I have a couple jobs lined up, but I’m not going to jump on those just yet. I just appreciate this … it has been a blast … they will forever be my family.”
