MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/4/14) — The City of Madisonville Water Department has lifted a boil water advisory that had been in effect for parts of Madisonville.
The advisory has been lifted for water customers on East Center Street between Buckner Street and Madison Square Drive.
According to a notice from the City of Madisonville, water customers on East Center Street between Buckner Street and Madison Square Drive should observe the following guidelines:
To boil water: Fill a pot with water. Heat the water until bubbles come from the bottom of the pot to the top. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute. Turn off the heat source and let the water cool. Pour water into a clean container with a cover for storage.
Use Boiled Water for:
Washing fruits and vegetables
Mixing infant formula
Giving water to pets
The City of Madisonville Water Department will advise the public as soon as the boil advisory has been lifted. This could take up to 48 hours. The advisory does not affect customers outside the above mentioned area.
