parrentMADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/6/14) — Madisonville Police observed a vehicle on north Main Street swerving in and out of line and failing to signal a turn onto east Broadway Street Tuesday, Aug. 5.

According to a Madisonville Police report, officers conducted a traffic stop and observed Johnathan Mark Parrent, 30, Fredonia had bloodshot and glassy eyes along with a slow, slurred speech.

Parrent advised officers that he had smoked synthetic cannabinoid and consented to a sobriety test, which he was unable to pass. Parrent also told police that he had used methamphetamine within in the last 24 hours, the report said

The report said that Parrent was placed under arrest and transported to Baptist Health, where he was read implied consent. During the vehicle search, a small bag of residue was found.

Parrent is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail and was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense.
