falsely reporting abductionMADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/11/14) ― A Madisonville woman was charged with falsely reporting an incident after she allegedly reported that her sister had been kidnapped, raped and murdered.

According to a Madisonville Police Department report, Officer Justin Browning was dispatched on the rape/murder complaint at 7:37 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10 to 384 Thompson Avenue. Upon arrival, Browning contacted Central Dispatch to ask if the person reporting the incident had done similarly in the past, and learned that she had done so four times previously this year, and was arrested for falsely reporting an incident.

The report said, Victoria D. Vaden, 53, told officers that she saw her sister get into a van. She also told officers that she hasn't seen her sister in 14 years but that the people in the van raped and killed her. Browning warned Vaden not to falsely report any incident but she continued with the story, the report said.

Vaden was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
