Madisonville Introduces New Spray Park

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/15/14) — SurfKY News had the opportunity to speak with Chris Taylor the Park Superintendent for the city of Madisonville, Ky. 

“This project has been going on for several years now, we really picked up the pace the last couple months.  Construction physically started in mid to late June.  Two months of construction has gone by and we will be ready to [officially] open tomorrow morning [Saturday, August 16, 2014].”

The long awaited spray park has been made possible through funding from the city of Madisonville, some local government entities, the Hopkins County Fiscal Court, Baptist Health, Madisonville Rotary Club, and more.

Locals will have a chance to take advantage of this new amenity during set hours.

Festus Claybon City Park is open daily from 5 a.m. – 10 p.m., spray park will be open 10 a.m. – sundown. The park is located on Hopewell Street in Madisonville, Ky.
