Park Avenue Trespass Call Leads to Several Charges for Madisonville Man

richardRichard Allen GearyMADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/20/14) — Madisonville Police responded to a trespassing complaint at a Park Avenue residence Tuesday, Aug. 19.

According to a Madisonville Police report, officers found Richard Allen Geary, 40, Madisonville, at the front of the residence. As officers approached, Geary headed to the back of the residence through the carport. Officers gave commands to stop, however, Geary continued to the backyard and attempted to hide in the grass behind a tent.

The report said, officers observed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on Geary, along with a slurred speech and he appeared to be very agitated. After officers gave more commands, Geary got down on the ground, but before officers were able to handcuff him, Geary tucked his right hand under his head and would not comply. Officers deployed a Taser striking Geary between his shoulder blades.

Geary then became compliant and was placed under arrest, the report said.

Geary is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail for alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense, fleeing or evading the police, second degree (on foot) and resisting arrest.
