Cornhole Tournament Planned for Browning Springs Back Pack Program

kids-smillingMADISONVILLE, Ky. (8/22/14) — The 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament for the Browning Springs Middle School Back Pack Program will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 behind the Badgett building at Madisonville Community College.

Across the country, school teachers have found in some cases, when Monday mornings rolled around, they are having to compete against the hunger for the attention of their students.

Even though more than 18 million children qualify for reduce or free lunches, it still doesn’t help those who go hungry over the weekends.

“This will be the sixth annual tournament,” said organizer Meaghan Teal. “This is to help raise food donations for the Browning Springs Middle School Backpack Program.”

Teal said the Back Pack Program has been helping children get the proper nutrition with easy-to- prepare food for over the course of the weekend.

“Anyone who would like to donate can contact Patti Snodgrass at BSMS,” said Teal. “They can also contact me as well.”

For more information or to donate, call Patti Snodgrass at (270) 825-6006 or Meaghan Teal at (270) 825-4379.
