Local Children Deceased Due to Car Accident

breakingnews FATALACCIDENT 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/9/13) – Two students from James Madison Middle School died tragically in a car accident yesterday at approximately 2 p.m. in Braxton County, West Virginia, near Frametown on Interstate 79.

The children, 12-year-old Makayla White and 14-year-old Jon King, were riding in the vehicle with mother Amy King, also a Madisonville resident, and another adult passenger all on their way to a relative's funeral in Pennsylvania.

West Virginia State Troopers reported that the driver lost control of the sport utility vehicle they were traveling in and slid off-road down a hill, crashing into several trees before being halted by a ditch. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

The two children were reportedly thrown from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. The report also stated that neither child was wearing a seat-belt. The two adults were transported to a local hospital where their conditions were last reported as physically stable.

Further details will be released as they are delivered to SurfKY News.

Funeral arrangements for the children have not been reported as of yet.
