lane closures green 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (5/4/13) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a lane shift along the KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard Project in Owensboro starting Monday, May 6.

The lane shift will occur between Ky. 2699/Goetz Drive at mile point 1.351 and Back Square Drive at mile point 1.492. Eastbound and westbound lanes will be shifted to the north in this area. The lane shifts are required to facilitate ongoing construction to widen Ky. 2121/Southtown Blvd.

As an update on remaining work on this extended project, reconstruction along Southtown Boulevard is significantly complete from Ky. 2698/Carter Road to Ky. 2699/Goetz Drive. From Ky. 2699/Goetz Drive to U.S. 431/Frederica Street, the contractor is proceeding with phased construction activities.

The official completion date for this project is October 16. However, the contractor is on track to have the project completed by mid-summer, weather permitting.
