MADISONVILLLE, KY (12/12/11) – Madisonville Fire Officials were dispatched to Center Street in front of Walmart today, Dec. 12, at around noon, in response to a report of an accident with injuries involving a semi-tractor trailer truck and a car.
After arriving on the scene of the accident, Madisonville Firefighters found that the truck, owned by a company called “RiteCrete,” was leaking diesel fuel onto the roadway. Fire officials put absorbent on the diesel fuel for clean-up purposes.
Traffic was backed up considerably along Center Street as well as in the Walmart parking lot as Madisonville Police Department officials arrived on the scene to direct traffic. Traffic in one lane was redirected through the Walmart parking lot for a short while.
Madisonville towing was originally called in to remove the truck, but it turned out that the truck was still operable and would be driven from the scene. There were no major injuries reported.
