Mark Lee Sworn In

 

mark lee sworeinMADISONVILLE, KY (1/23/12) – The Madisonville City Council, by a 3 to 1 vote, elected Mark Lee to fill the unexpired term of Ward 1 Councilman Dallas Cunningham. Councilpersons Simmons, Marion and Myers voted for Lee. Councilman Smith voted for Frank Versnick. Councilman Stone was not in attendance.
 
The 8 a.m. special called meeting was necessary because the previous vote for Lee had been by secret ballot which violated Kentucky law and made the vote invalid. Lee was immediately sworn in by Gina Munger, City Clerk/Treasurer.
 
Ironically, the council members are all democrats. Dallas Cunningham is a democrat. Mark Lee is a registered republican. Mayor Jackson is a republican. Most citizens will find this a most refreshing departure from the political bickering seen at the state and federal level.
