Burglary Arrests in Lyon County

BURG ARRESTS 300KUTTAWA, KY (3/20/12) – On March 18, 2012, Kentucky State Police received a call of a burglary of a residence on New Circle Drive in Lyon County.
 
The caller stated that the property owner was away and he was the caretaker of the house, who had arrived at the residence to do maintenance. Upon entering the residence, he found two male individuals asleep inside. When he woke them up, one suspect identified later as Austin B. McDowell, (20) of Princeton, KY fled the residence in a red Pontiac Sunfire, while the other suspect, Giovanni J. Lane (21), of Paducah, KY, gathered up several items in a bag and fled on foot.
 
Austin McDowell was located at the Huck’s Travel Center at I-24 and US 62, and taken into custody. He was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. After a brief search of the area, Giovanni Lane was located in a nearby wooded area and taken into custody. He was also charged with Burglary 3rd Degree.
 
Both subjects were lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Eddyville Police Department. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Jonathon Ward.
