MARION, KY (4/24/12) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury collision that occurred on KY 1668, approximately two miles west of Marion, on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at approximately 10:25 a.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Charles Duncan, age 55 of Murray, KY, was operating a 2013 International dump truck southbound on KY 1668. The dump truck was loaded with gravel. Mr. Duncan advised that he swerved to avoid another vehicle that was on his side of the road. The dump truck dropped off the shoulder of the road. Mr. Duncan overcorrected which caused his load to shift. The dump truck overturned spilling its load. It came to rest on its driver’s side on the road.
Mr. Duncan was transported via ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital where he was treated and released. He was wearing a seatbelt.
Trooper First Class Chris King investigated the collision. Crittenden County Constables, Crittenden County EMS, and the State Highway Department assisted at the scene.
