Accident with Injuries on 130 North

traf acc w inj300UNIONTOWN, KY (5/14/12) – On Saturday, May 12, 2012, at approximately 12:34 PM, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Troopers responded to a reported accident with possible injuries on KY 130 North.
 
Once on the scene, KSP Troopers found that 69-year-old Daniel Spelbring of Uniontown was operating 2000 Chrysler Town and Country Mini-Van traveling southbound on KY 130 North. Daren Stout, 40, also of Uniontown, was operating 1990 Ford Truck southbound on KY 130 North two vehicles behind Spelbring. Spelbring attempted a left-hand turn into his driveway, at which time Stout made an illegal pass around the vehicle between him and Spelbring. Stout’s vehicle struck Spelbring’s Van in the rear.
 
Both vehicles came to final rest in the roadway. Spelbring’s vehicle was not operable and a local towing company was utilized.
 
Spelbring was transported to the Union County Methodist Hospital by Union County EMS for a small laceration to his face.
