Accident Leads to DUI Arrest of Kuttawa Man

arrest2 green 300LYON COUNTY, KY (5/14/12) – On May 13 at approximately 9:45 AM, Kentucky State Police (KSP) officials responded to the scene of an accident with potential injuries on KY 810 South.
 
Once on the scene, KSP Troopers found that Richard Thompson, Jr. was traveling south on KY 810 when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing him to run off the east side of the road. Thompson's vehicle hit an embankment before going airborne and coming to final rest in a field.
 
Thompson was taken to the hospital by private vehicle for treatment of injuries. Thompson was released from the hospital and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. He is being charged with DUI 1st Offense- Aggravated, Failure to Report an Accident, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
 
Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff's Department and Eddyville Police Department.
 
The investigation continues by Trooper Ward.
