TRIGG COUNTY, KY (6/4/12) – A Christian County man remains hospitalized in a Nashville hospital after injuries sustained in a Sunday afternoon collision. Kentucky State Police responded to the collision just before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of KY 139 and the US 68 Bypass in Trigg County.
The initial investigation by KSP revealed that a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by 33-year-old Christopher Mullins, was westbound on US 68. A Nissan Sentra, operated by 62-year-old Rosetta Bacon, was traveling north on KY 139. Witnesses at the scene stated that Bacon’s vehicle crossed the intersection without coming to a complete stop at the stop sign. Bacon’s vehicle traveled into the path of Mullins’ motorcycle causing the motorcycle to collide with the passenger side of Bacon’s vehicle. Mullins, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. Bacon received no injuries in the collision.
Mullins was transported to Trigg County Hospital and later transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Hospital for multiple injuries. Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office and Trigg County EMS/Rescue. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Nathan Clinkenbeard.
