PADUCAH, Ky. (3/30/13) - True to its mission, Lourdes has made this investment to better serve the community through the compassionate care that Lourdes HomeCare and Hospice offer by expanding their current car fleet from 26 to 50 new Ford Focus cars.

"We are so excited that we will be providing new cars for 50 homecare and hospice team members," said Kay Williams, Director of Lourdes Homecare/Hospice.

There are over 100 associates serving patients in 13 Kentucky counties and three Illinois counties, driving more than 92,000 miles per month. The cars are used to provide care, pick up patient equipment, and make assessments and admissions.

"We have a full support team of nurses, pastoral care counselors, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and personal care assistants who all travel to see patients," says Kay Williams, Director for Lourdes Homecare/Hospice. "The team members make visits around the clock, 24/7 and are often out during the middle of the night. Providing cars for our teams is imperative to the services that we provide to our communities."

The Lourdes Homecare and Hospice team provides a dedicated support system for patients and families who are going through the end of life process. For more information about Lourdes Hospice, call (270) 415-3636.
