Fatal Accident in Trigg County

breakingnews FATALACCIDENT 300TRIGG COUNTY, KY (12/10/12) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating a two-vehicle fatality collision that occurred on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at approximately 8:08 AM, on KY 274 (Rockcastle Road) in Trigg County
 
Preliminary investigation revealed David Shoaf, age 30 of Cadiz, KY, was operating a 2002 Toyota Sienna, traveling north on KY 274, when it collided with a 2011 John Deere farm tractor traveling south, operated by Carl G. Calhoun, age 58, of Cadiz, Ky. Shoaf, along with three passengers; Dalton R. McDougall, age 19 of Cadiz, KY, Kimberly M. Shafer, age 18 of Cadiz, KY, and Lindsey M. Sholar, age 17 of Cadiz, KY, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County Coroner.
 
A fifth passenger in the van, Brenden J. Breen, age 18 of Cadiz, KY, was transported by Trigg County E.M.S. to Trigg County Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Breen was the only occupant of the van wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The operator of the farm tractor was not injured.
 
Troopers Billy Over and Thomas Clifton are continuing the investigation. Trooper Over was assisted at the scene by Trigg County Coroner’s Office, Trigg County EMS, Cadiz Police Department, East Golden Pond Fire Department, Trigg County Rescue, and the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.
