Injury Collision in Lyon County

Accident Injury 01 blue 300LYON COUNTY, Ky. (1/25/13) – The Kentucky State Police investigates a single vehicle injury collision that occurred on Friday, January 25, 2013 at approximately 6: 47 a.m. on Interstate 24 in Lyon County.
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that Jackson Charles, age 36 of Kansas City, Missouri and a passenger, Ilary Fortune, age 42, also of Kansas City, Missouri, were operating a 2012 Ford E-350 Penske moving truck traveling west on Interstate 24. As Charles was traveling beside a tractor trailer, the tractor trailer began to come over into his lane. Charles then left the roadway on the left shoulder, traveled through the median, struck a highway sign and came to rest in the median.
 
Both Charles and his passenger refused treatment and transport by Lyon Co. EMS.
 
The investigation is continuing by Officer Chris Green with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
