Accident with Injuries on US 6 Bypass in Union County

car crash 300UNION COUNTY, Ky. (2/18/13) – On Saturday, February 16, 2013, Kentucky State Police officials responded to a report of an accident on the US 60 Bypass.
 
Once on the scene, Troopers found that 20-year-old Chelsie Crider, of Morganfield, was traveling Westbound on US 60 Bypass at KY2091 operating a 2012 Silver Mazda 3. At the same time, 75-year-old Findley Mahaffey, of Wartrace, TN, was traveling Southbound at KY2091 operating a 1996 White Ford Van. Crider failed to yield right of away at the intersection and drove into the path of Mahaffey. Mahaffey struck Crider on the driver side. Crider’s vehicle stayed in the intersection and Maheffey’s vehicle continued westbound coming to a final rest on the shoulder of the westbound lane on US 60 Bypass.
 
Crider suffered from multiple injuries to neck and back. Nelle Mahaffey, a passenger in Findley Mahaffey’s vehicle, suffered from broken ribs. Both were listed as in stable condition at Union County Methodist Hospital.
