woodlandsnatureGOLDEN POND, Ky. (4/4/13) - Calling all home educators! Visit Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) on Friday, April 19, 2013, for a new and exciting program full of hands-on activities designed especially for home educator families.
 
The First Annual Homeschoolers’ Day will focus on birds. Arrive any time between 10am and 3pm to learn about birds through the lenses of science, art, writing, history, and more.
 
Everyone is welcome on Homeschoolers’ Day. Programs are designed for children ages 5-12. Plan to spend 2-3 hours to explore all of the programs and displays. Educational materials will be available to take home.
 
“Homeschoolers’ Day is a great opportunity for home educator families to add outdoor experiences to their curriculum,” stated Aviva Yasgur, School Programs Coordinator at the Nature Station. “Woodlands Nature Station provides visitors the chance to come face to face with the live animals and plants that live in the natural world.”
 
Come Outside and Play at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. Managed by the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Land Between The Lakes provides outdoor recreation, lake access, and environmental education for the public to enjoy.
