Lake City Man Arrested after Fleeing and Assaulting Officers

General Arrest 03 stony 300LAKE CITY, Ky. (5/6/13) – On May 4, 2013 at 5:58 PM Senior Trooper Eric Fields stopped a vehicle on Depot Road in Lake City, KY. The driver, Dean Bourgault, fled on foot.

Trooper Fields chased Mr. Bourgault for several hundred yards before losing him in a wooded area near Gentry Road. Several other Troopers, along with K-9 Oscar, and Livingston County Deputies, tracked Bourgault for several additional yards before losing his trail. Citizens in the area called reported seeing him in the area, but officers were unable to locate him when they arrived.

Early the next morning, May 5th at 1:23 AM, a local citizen called about a prowler in the same area Bourgault was last seen. When officers arrived, they found Bourgault hiding in a vehicle. Bourgault got out of the vehicle and began to fight with both officers. After being tased twice, officers were able to restrain Bourgault without further incident.

Bourgault was transported to Lourdes Hospital, treated, released and lodged into the McCracken County Jail.

Both officers received minor injuries during the struggle, but did not need medical attention.

Monica Harris, a passenger in the vehicle, was cited into court after Troopers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her possession.
