Shooting Incident in Livingston County Leads to two Arrests

shooting investigation 300LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky. (5/13/13) – On May 10, at approximately 9:28 pm, Kentucky State Police received a complaint of shots fired in the Livingston County area.
 
Units arrived on scene and determined that Leon Cunningham was intoxicated and outside firing a weapon. Several rounds were fired after a verbal altercation with his wife Theresa Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham re-entered the residence and got into a physical altercation with his wife. Both subjects struggled over the gun causing the firearm to discharge. Mrs. Cunningham was struck in the calf region of her leg. She was transported to Baptist Healthcare for her injuries. A juvenile at the residence was also transported by EMS to Baptist Healthcare, for alcohol poisoning.

Kentucky State Police is in charge of the investigation and have charged Mr. Leon Cunningham with Assault 1st Degree Domestic Violence and 3 Counts Wanton Endangerment. Mrs. Theresa Cunningham was charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
 
Trooper Eric Fields was assisted on scene by Livingston County Sheriff Department, Livingston County EMS, Kentucky Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
