lbl 300 GOLDEN POND, Ky. (6/18/13) – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area would like to welcome Tina Tilley as the new Area Supervisor. She replaces Bill Lisowsky who retired at the end of 2012.
Tilley comes to LBL with a wealth of experience in the National Forest System. Most recently she served as the District Ranger on the Appalachian Ranger District of the National Forests in North Carolina. She began her career as a Wilderness Information Specialist on the Tonto National Forest. Tilley then worked on the George Washington, Kisatchie, Chattahoochee/Oconee, National Forests in North Carolina and in the Southern Regional Office. Tilley will administer more than 170,000 acres at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. This demonstration area combines resource management, environmental education, and outdoor recreation to benefit the entire region of western Kentucky and Tennessee.
“I am excited to become part of such a unique place within the Forest Service,” says the 26-year Forest Service veteran. “My goal is to build relationships and partnerships with the people in the community, so we can work together and continue to improve the management of the area’s resources.”
The Knoxville, TN native is a graduate of University of Tennessee with a degree in Forest Management and a minor in Forest Recreation. She spends much of her free time fishing, landscaping, working with Habitat for Humanity, and participating in church and civic organizations.
