Eagles Tribute Band Soars into Saturday on the Square

EAGLES 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (7/4/13) – There are lots of tribute bands currently traveling throughout the concert circuit. Nevertheless, when it comes to doing justice to the years of hit songs released by legendary musical group, The Eagles, many have stated that the closest they have seen to the real group is that of the tribute band “7 Bridges.”

This highly popular band kicks off season five of Greenville’s Saturday on the Square concert series on July 6 at 8:00 PM. The concert is free and open to the public.

Beth Newman, of the Greenville Tourism Commission, told reporters, “The band was a huge hit with the audience at last years’ event. We are very excited to have them back again.”

Newman noted that 7 Bridges was chosen by Saturday on the Square attendees as “Best of the first four years.”

Band leader, Jason Manning, explained that, “Seven Bridges doesn’t just try to capture the sound of The Eagles’ music, which is a challenge in itself. We are the only Eagles tribute band that combines fantastic musicians with trying to match the look and style of each of the Eagles band members. We try to do each role as the different band members would do it if the crowd was at one of their shows.”

When asked if he was the lead singer of the band, Manning stated, “The Eagles have four lead singers. There is Don Henley, Glen Frey, Timothy Schmidt and Joe Walsh. So, our Don Henley member plays drums like Henley and sings the songs Don would perform in concert. The same holds true with our Joe Walsh member. We even throw in a few James Gang songs and “Heart of the Matter” from a Don Henley solo album.”

Manning went on to say that, “We formed 7 Bridges in 2008. Before that, we were known as “Tequila Sunrise, but one member got an audition with a then-unknown newcomer named Taylor Swift. Five years later, he is still touring with her.”

Manning also noted that, “We do about 70-75 tribute shows per year, but we play all over the country. So, with 75 concerts, we may be on the road for a total of 90-95 days. Plus, with a show this complicated, that’s a lot of dates to play. I live in Fort Worth and the rest of the band lives in Nashville, and one member lives in Bowling Green. We also write our own songs individually as well, and do sessions work with a lot of artists.”

With all the talent and variety of musical skill noted, reporters asked Manning if there would be any chance of 7 Bridges putting out an album of original material.

“We’re actually working on a project now that would incorporate a part of each of our own individual styles and talents. Our tight harmonies blend with a kind of country/rock feel,” said Manning.

As for returning to Saturdays on the Square, Manning stated, “Last year’s show was perfect. We loved playing in Greenville and look forward to another great show there.”
