Kentucky Highway Department Begins Paving Project on Ky. 56

asphalt1 kytrans 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/21/13) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans asphalt paving along Ky. Hwy. 56 in Daviess County starting today.

This paving project runs along Ky. 56 from the Daviess-McLean County Line at mile point 0.0 extending eastward to just east of Ky. 456 at mile point 8.210, a distance of 8.2 miles.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Some delays are possible during the movement and positioning of equipment.  Motorists should use appropriate caution in the work zone where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Yager Materials is the prime contractor on this $1,011,782 highway improvement project.  The work is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete.

Timely traffic advisories for the 11 counties of KYTC Highway District 2 are available by going to www.facebook.com/kytcdistrict2.  You do not have to be a Facebook member to access this page.
