Moped Accident with Injuries in Cadiz

accident injuries amb 300CADIZ, Ky. (6/28/13) – Cadiz Police responded to a crash involving a moped on Anna Street around 3:28 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2013.
 
Once on the scene of the accident, officers found that Joey L. Henderson, of 326 Anna Street, Cadiz, failed to negotiate a curve on a 2011 moped, overcorrected and then overturned in the roadway. Henderson suffered a head injury and pelvis injury. Henderson was located by a family friend and his brother a short time after the crash. They then called for police and medical help.
 
After an investigation, it was found that Henderson, who was not wearing a helmet, had been drinking before the crash. He was charged with DUI - First offense and not having a driver's license.
 
Henderson was taken to Trigg County Hospital then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was given a July court date on the DUI and no Operator’s License charges. The crash was investigated by Sgt. Scott Brown.
