Juveniles Arrested on Arson Charges after Fire in Eddyville

juvenile arrested 300EDDYVILLE, Ky. (7/11/13) – A residential fire was reported at an abandoned residence on Chestnut Street in Eddyville KY. Fire Departments from Eddyville and Kuttawa responded to the scene.

While battling the blaze, Eddyville Fire Fighter Randy Reed was injured when a burning tree branch fell and struck him on the head. He was transported to the Caldwell County Hospital and later transferred to Deaconess Hospital with a neck injury and burns to the left side of his body.

After investigation, two juveniles located at the scene were arrested for their involvement with the fire and released to their parent’s custody. One juvenile was charged with Arson 1st Degree and the second juvenile was charged with Complicity to Arson 1st Degree.

The fire is being investigated by Trooper First Class Lewie Dodd, Fire Marshall Bill Compton and Arson Investigator Rick Godsey.
