Head-on Collision on US HWY 60

Accident Injury 01 300LEDBETTER, Ky. (7/31/13) – On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Troopers responded to a report of an accident at the Ledbetter limits.
 
According to KSP officials, 38-year-old James Britt was traveling west on US 60 and was attempting to make a left turn into the Ledbetter Minit Mart.  At the same time, Gary Kolb 63-year-old was traveling east on US 60.  As Mr. Britt applied his brakes, his vehicle began to skid and crossed into the eastbound lane, striking Mr. Kolb's vehicle head-on.  
 
Kolb, along with a passenger, were transported to Lourdes Hospital for minor injuries by Livingston County EMS.  Britt was treated for his injuries at Baptist Health and was released.  
 
After his release, Britt was arrested by KSP and lodged in the McCracken County Jail on charges of DUI 1st offense and Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance.  
 
Trooper Ramsey was assisted on scene by Livingston County Sheriff's Department, Ledbetter Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
