The Kentucky Deer Classic hunting expo returns on August 24th for the 25th consecutive year. It has become known as “the” showcase for Kentucky’s avid deer hunter and outdoorsmen. Hunters from across Kentucky and neighboring states look forward to coming each year as part of their annual preparation for the upcoming hunting season. From 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Muhlenberg County Agricultural & Convention Center, Highway 189 Bypass in Powderly, KY 42367. Relay for Life - 5K/1.5 Fun Run
The Hopkins County Relay for Life will be hosting their 4th annual 5K and 1.5 fun run on Saturday, August 24. Pre-registration will be begin at 7:00am and the race will start at 8:00am at Fitness Formula. Entry fee for pre-registration is $20.00 and $25.00 at the day of the race. The first 50 people will receive a free t-shirt. To be considered for pre-registration, application must be turned in to Jeremy Smith or Lauren Wood at the US Bank E. Center Street branch by Friday, August 23rd by 6:00 pm. Payment can be made by cash or checks made payable to American Cancer Society.

The Tradewater River Fitness Challenge
The Tradewater River Fitness Challenge includes a 4K run, 2 mile canoeing/kayaking and 16.5 mile bike ride. Registration will take place between 6:30 and 8 am with a mandatory pre-race safety meeting at 8:45 am. The men's event will begin at 9 am and the women's at 9:10.
