Cadiz Police Reports Phone Scam

Scam Alert blue 300CADIZ, Ky. (9/17/13) – The Cadiz Police Department has received calls today from the public stating that unknown person(s) have called them on the phone to solicit money on behalf of the Cadiz Police Department.

The Cadiz Police Department does not use any outside agency, firm, or group to solicit on our behalf, to include raising money or selling ads for calendars, magnets, etc. Any fundraising done by the Cadiz Police Department will be done by a uniformed officer and will either be in person or on CPD letterhead.

At this time, we aren't sure who is originating these calls. However, we want it known that the Cadiz Police Department is not actively soliciting money over the telephone.

If you have any questions or have received one of these calls in the past 24 hours, please contact Major Duncan Wiggins or Sgt. Scott Brown at 270-522-8369.
