MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY (9/30/13) – The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office has reported an accident that took place on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at approximately 7:19 AM, involving a truck overturning in the Green River, inevitably leading to a drug arrest.

According to Muhlenberg County Sheriff Curtis McGehee, officials received a call that a truck was in the water above the Rochester Dam with two persons standing on top of it. When first responders arrived they found Teneka Edwards of 659 Beech Creek Browder Road and David Tabb of 101 Rail Road Lane, Browder standing on the side of the overturned truck. Rescue workers managed to get life jackets to Edwards and Tabb before extending a ladder from the bank to the truck. Central City Fireman Kevin Tucker then made is way across the ladder to help the two victims get back to the bank. Tabb sustained minor injuries and Edwards appeared to be uninjured.
 
Deputy Derrick Moore charged Tabb with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol. Moore later located meth on Tabb and charged him with possession of a controlled substance, first degree.
 
Sheriff McGehee stated that agencies worked remarkably well together to get the two victims to safety.
 
Beechmont Fire Department, Central City Fire Department, Emergency Management, Butler County Rescue, Rochester Fire Department, Muhlenberg County Ambulance Service, Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department and Dept. of Fish and Wildlife worked together at the scene.
