Restaurant Infuses Cuisine from Many Cultures

OWENSBORO, Ky. (10/10/13) - The Owensboro Chamber of Commerce welcomed its newest member at a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday celebrating Carleo’s Food and Spirits.

Carleo’s is a multi-cultural restaurant infusing foods from the Cuban, Italian, Mexican, and Thai cultures. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner at a moderate price, but in an “upscale” environment says owner, Salvador Zendejas.

“We want it to be known for quality and service,” Zendejas said. “To make you happy is my goal.”

Zendajas brought the restaurant to Owensboro after investing in a restaurant in Mexico for a year. His cousin owns a similar restaurant in Knoxville, Tenn., which he wanted to model his location after.

“It’s started off pretty much like a dream,” Zendejas said.

Carleo’s Food and Spirits is located on Alvey Park Dr. and is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
