Pic of the Week - Animal Lover Captures Bobcat

bobcat 300ISLAND, Ky. (10/11/13) – Animal lovers and photographers Ricky and Elizabeth Wigginton of Island recently experienced a real treat when a neighbor called to tell them that a bobcat was sitting in their yard.

“We were just finishing lunch and the phone rang,” said Elizabeth. “We couldn't see anything from the window but I grabbed my camera and we went out into the front yard. It was on the other side of the corn.”

Elizabeth said she and her husband enjoyed their visit from the bobcat. They weren’t afraid and neither was the animal, she said.

“It was very pretty,” she said. “It was just sitting there enjoying the sunshine.”

Elizabeth said she is grateful for the chance to see the low-profile feline.

“I never thought I'd see one in my life,” she said. “It's rare to see one and I haven't seen it since.”

Elizabeth said the photogenic feline casually got up and walked slowly into the field.

“It was like it was posing for us,” she said.
