arrest3MADISONVILLE, Ky. (11/9/13) — Two Hopkins County men and a woman were charged for first-degree robbery when Madisonville Police tracked down the suspects after a watching surveillance videos.

According to a Madisonville Police Department report, a man entered the Big Springs Inn in Madisonville at about 2:51 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8 brandishing a small handgun and demanding money.

The victim of the robbery told MPD officers that the man left on foot headed west. After reviewing the security video, the suspect was seen getting into a black Buick Regal in the Walmart parking lot, the report said.

MPD officer J.L. Jones reported having stopped a vehicle earlier in the evening that matched the suspects' vehicle. Jones' and other MPD officers were able to put the information together.

About 30 minutes later, MPD stopped the vehicle and after an investigation arrested the suspects.

MPD charged Johnathon Franklin, 26, of Earlington, Cody Davis, 24, and Dana Stanley, 21, both of Madisonville, with robbery in the first degree.

A search warrant for the vehicle revealed further evidence, the report said.

According to the Hopkins County Jail website, Franklin is being held on a $5,000 cash bond; Stanley is being held on a $2,500 cash bond. Davis was not listed on the jail's website as of Nov. 8.
