Benton Students Honor Local Vets

benton honor1 300BENTON, Ky. (11/14/13) — Benton Middle School's Student Government sponsored a Veterans' Day Program for our local veterans on Veterans Day.

Students invited local veterans and were pleased when veterans from WWII, Viet Nam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan and many others attended the program which was held at Benton Elementary School. The student led program featured materials written by the students. A poem "I Am a Veteran" written by Andrea Brett was read by the Student Council members. Mr. Keith Johnson, a retired teacher, presented a memorial musical program as a salute to our country and to our veterans.
