GOLDEN POND, KY (2/7/14) – Electric, phone, and water services have been restored at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.
The Administrative Office, Wranglers Campground, and the Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium have reopened.
The Elk & Bison Prairie will remain closed until ice-packed road conditions improve.
Staff will continue to work to get roads and trails cleared of downed trees and limbs to make it safe for the public. Anyone visiting, or traveling through, Land Between The Lakes is strongly encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and know that they may encounter hazardous trees and hanging tree limbs overhead.
Icy patches still remain on many of the roads within LBL. With temperatures predicted to remain below freezing for several more days, additional damages and unsafe conditions may exist.

Management urges OHV enthusiasts to “Call Before You Haul” (270) 924-2000, or log onto the official LBL website at www.lbl.org and click on Alerts & Notices, for up-to-date information.Follow LBL on Twitter @LBLScreechOwl or @LandBtwnLakes.
