Murray Police Charge Juvenile in Tennessee Auto Theft

JUVENILE charged 300MURRAY, Ky. (2/26/14) – Officers with the Murray Police Department spotted a vehicle around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 26, which was reported stolen from Cottage Grove, Tenn.

Officers activated emergency lights at the intersection of 12th Street and Main Street in the CVS parking lot, but the vehicle proceeded north on 12th Street at a low rate of speed to the vicinity of Sharpe Street. The vehicle went through a fence and came to rest against a tree. The suspect fled on foot and was found in a yard a short distance away, according to MPD.

The juvenile was charged with theft by unlawful taking (auto) more than $500 but less than $10,000, fleeing or evading police first degree, criminal mischief second degree, and no operators/moped license.

The juvenile was lodged at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
