lbl1GOLDEN POND, Ky. (3/3/14) — The latest blast of sleet, freezing rain, and snow that fell across Western Kentucky throughout the day and overnight on Sunday, created treacherous driving conditions at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.

Area Supervisor Tina Tilley temporarily closed all offices and facilities Sunday and Monday in an effort to keep staff and the public safe.

Anyone traveling through Land Between The Lakes is advised to use extreme caution as roads are heavily ice covered. Ice covered trees and limbs continue to fall throughout the area due to ex-tremely saturated soil conditions and the additional weight from the ice.

If travel is not necessary, please stay off LBL roads for your safety and the safety of road crews.

Updates and additional information can be found online at www.lbl.org, or by calling (270) 924-2000 or (800) 525-7077.
