cadiz police arrest6 300CADIZ, Ky. (3/17/14) — The Cadiz Police Department released the following reports Monday, March 17.

Cody L. Sarnacki, 22, of Cadiz was arrested at 11:53 p.m. Saturday, March 15 by Officer Aaron Acree and charged with DUI – first offense, operating on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Sarnacki was stopped on Main Street, with Officer Acree having prior knowledge that his license was suspended. During a pat down of the suspect, Officer Acree located a small baggie of marijuana in the ankle area of his pants. Subject had admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day. Subject failed three FST and was arrested. Officers found cigars in the vehicle that are commonly used to smoke marijuana once the tobacco is removed. A passenger, Dillon Randall, 19, of Cadiz was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested by Officer Andrew Sanderson for Public Intoxication after it was determined he had smoked marijuana.

Ricky L. Carneyhan, 54, of Cadiz, was arrested 1:02 a.m. Saturday, March 15 by Officer Andrew Sanderson and charged with DUI – first offense. Subject was stopped in the parking lot of Daily's Convenience Store on Main Street, and was determined to be under the influence after Officer Sanderson smelled alcohol on Carneyhan, and failed three FST.

Darius McNeal, 29, of Hopkinsville, was arrested at 1:47 p.m. Thursday, March 13 by Major Duncan Wiggins and charged with third-degree criminal trespass. Officers received a complaint that McNeal was trespassing on the property of the Housing Authority of Cadiz without permission. McNeal was located inside an apartment on Martindale Street. McNeal has a warning from the Housing Authority not to be on their property.

Dion D. Robinson, 29, of Hopkinsville, was arrested at 3:22 a.m. Tuesday, March 11 by Officer Aaron Acree and served a Christian County District Court arrest warrant charging him with failure to pay court fines. Officer Acree was investigating illegal activity at Barkley Manor Apartments, and Robinson was found inside an apartment during the investigation.

Travis A. Malatt, 28, of Cadiz, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, March 8 by Officer Randy Clark on the strength of a Christian County District Court arrest warrant charging him with probation violation in reference to a DUI charge.

Officer Roger Knight arrested a Dhante D. Cavanaugh, 28, of Cadiz 10:29 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 on the strength of a Christian County Circuit Court arrest warrant charging him with contempt of court for being $674 in arrears of child support payments.

Officer Randy Clark arrested David. E. Nelson, 56, of Cadiz at 1:01 p.m. Saturday, March 8 and charged him with alcohol intoxication and second-degree disorderly conduct after he was observed in an intoxicated state inside a Cadiz business by off-duty Sgt. Scott Brown. The subject asked Sgt. Brown, who was in plain clothes and wearing a hat marked 'POLICE', for a ride to the liquor store. The suspect was unsteady on his feet and became disorderly when placed under arrest.

Officer Andrew Sanderson investigated a one-vehicle crash at 6:44 a.m. Saturday, March 15 in the parking lot of Arrowhead Car Wash at 1740 Main Street. Eura Oliver, 80, of Cadiz was attempting to insert money into a drive-through pay station at the car wash. Oliver said he dropped a dollar bill on the ground. He opened his door and attempted to pick up the bill while still inside the vehicle. When the vehicle rolled forward, Oliver accidentally stepped on the accelerator and went forward, striking the side wall and electronic control device inside the wash bay. Oliver steered right, leaving the bay and struck two concrete posts. Oliver was taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
