cadiz police arrest6 300CADIZ, Ky. (3/31/14) — The Cadiz Police department released the following reports Monday, March 31, 2014.

The Cadiz Police Department continues to work with the Trigg County Attorney's Office in an effort to locate and serve warrants for outstanding child support.

Sgt. Scott Brown arrested Frank R. Hendrix, Jr., 31, of Cadiz, Saturday on the strength of two warrants for contempt of court for failing to appear in court for a child support hearing.

CPD also located Tyvis Hendrix, 29,  of Cadiz, who was incarcerated in Marshall County and wanted on a contempt of court warrant here. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office was notified of his whereabouts, and he was served the warrant while in jail there.

All total, the two men were over $7,000 in arrears of child support payments.

Officer Roger Knight arrested Joshua J. Barwan, 22, of Cadiz, Sunday 7:01 p.m. following a traffic stop on Lafayette Street. Barwan was charged with operating on a suspended license and failure to maintain insurance - second or greater offense. A roadside investigation determined that Barwan's license was suspended for failing to maintain vehicle insurance after having been convicted two prior times of not having insurance.

Chief Chad Grace arrested Kenneth E. Evans, 47, of Greenville, Ky., March 26 and served him a Trigg County Circuit Court arrest warrant charging him with violation of bond conditions, stemming from a 2013 arrest for DUI - third offense and being a persistent felony offender. Evans was arrested in Christian County recently on another DUI charge.

Officer Randy Clark arrested Mason B. Geiger, 19, of Cadiz, March 28 at 3:21 p.m. Clark was responding to a non-injury traffic accident in the parking lot of McDonald's on Hopkinsville Road. During the investigation in which Geiger's vehicle struck another vehicle, Geiger began yelling and cursing at the passenger in the other vehicle. With officers present, Geiger ran across the parking lot and grabbed the other person, pinning him against the vehicle. Geiger refused to adhere to officers' commands and was arrested. Geiger was charged with disorderly conduct - second degree, assault - fourth degree and resisting arrest. The other person was not injured. Officer Clark was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police.
