KSP Makes Drug Arrest in Lyon County

EDDYVILLE, Ky. (5/1/14) — According to a Kentucky State Police report, Trooper TJ Williams stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 24, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at approximately 9:30 a.m.

During the traffic stop Williams observed several indicators of criminal activities.

Williams obtained consent to search of the vehicle from the driver Debreana D. Royal, 23, of Portland, Ore. During the search, a plastic bucket full of packaged marijuana was located along with 8.5 ounces of a high grade marijuana, $600.00 in cash, a hand gun, digital scales and other items of drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.

Royal was arrested and charged with Trafficking of Marijuana over 8 ounces, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Royal was lodged at the Caldwell County Detention Center.

Trooper Brad Ramsey and K9 Oscar assisted in the search. The investigation continues by Trooper TJ Williams.
