Clay Trucking Owner, Beech Bend Raceway Vice President Dies at 42

Darren Clay JonesDarren Clay JonesMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (5/6/14) — A well-known business entrepreneur in Muhlenberg and Warren counties has died at the age of 42.

Darren Clay Jones of Beechmont died Monday, May 5 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

He was the owner of  Clay Jones Trucking and DC Transport, vice president of Clay's Trucking, vice president of Beech Bend Raceway and Beech Bend park. He was also president of Clacey's Auto and Hardware and Clacey's Quick Fuel.

Beech Bend Park and Splash Lagoon will be closed May 8 in observance of Jones' funeral services, which will be 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church in Greenville. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens in Bowling Green.

Beech Bend Park's grand opening has been delayed until 9 a.m. Friday, May 8.
