MURRAY, Ky. (6/5/14) — Vicki Emerson, Medical Staff Coordinator at Murray-Calloway County Hospital, was recently named 2013 Outstanding Medical Staff Services Professional of the Year Award by the Kentucky Association Medical Staff Services.

The award is presented annually to an individual who upholds high values and professional standards.

Emerson has served in numerous capacities with KAMSS including Southwest President, State Board of Directors and the Education Committee. Her ongoing dedication and commitment to KAMSS were highlighted as instrumental in the organization’s success and her nominees for the award said she goes above and beyond for KAMSS and its membership by always being willing to research and find the answers to the tough questions posed by peers. She will be officially recognized at the Annual Education Conference to be held in May.

“This is quite an honor, not only to be nominated by my peers but to be selected by the Board,” Emerson said.

Emerson has worked as the Medical Staff Coordinator for 11 years at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Her primary responsibility is to maintain standards to keep physicians credentialed and accredited in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

“We are always proud when our employees are recognized in their professional organizations. Vicki is an asset to Murray-Calloway County Hospital, and holds an important role ensuring our physicians are credentialed and current with their mandated requirements,” said Jerry Penner, MCCH CEO.
