TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (6/11/14) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to place a daytime lane and load width restriction on the US 68/Kentucky 80 Lake Barkley Bridge in Trigg County starting Monday, June 16, 2014.

The lane and load width restriction at US 68 mile point 8.5 is to allow a detailed inspection of the Henry Lawrence Memorial Bridge at Canton. Due to the use of a Snooper Truck as part of the inspection, the bridge will be restricted to vehicles no more than 8 ft. wide.

This lane and load width restriction will be in place on the US 68/Kentucky 80 Lake Barkley Bridge at Canton from approximately 8 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m., CDT. Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal.

The inspection is expected to take about 5 working days to complete, weather permitting.

The US 68/Kentucky 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge, also known as the Henry Lawrence Memorial Bridge and the Canton Bridge, carries approximately 3,800 vehicles in an average day. The bridge is located at US 68 mile point 8.596 in Trigg County and serves as the eastern entrance to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. It is located at Cumberland River navigation mile point 63.1.
