lane restriction 300LYON COUNTY, Ky. (7/20/14) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has restricted traffic to one lane on Kentucky 453 at the Canal Bridge just south of Grand Rivers at the northern entrance to Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.

The lane restriction on Kentucky 453/Dover Road/the Woodlands Trace at the Canal Bridge is to allow a concrete overlay on the bridge deck and painting of the steel substructure.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. This work zone lane restriction is expected to be in place until about Mid-September.

Vimas Contracting is the prime contractor on this bridge maintenance project.

The Kentucky 453 Canal Bridge at Lyon County mile point 0.238 serves as the northern entrance to the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. It carries approximately 1,000 vehicles in an average day.
