MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky (7/25/14) — A former high school head football coach has been indicted for allegedly soliciting the use of a minor in sexual activity, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in a sexual performance, sexual abuse in the first degree and distribution of obscene matter to a minor in Marshall County.
According to Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway's office, Ronald E. Barnard, 46, was indicted Thursday, July 24 by a Marshall County Grand Jury.
Barnard is the former Marshall County High School head football coach, who was arrested June 4 following a six-month investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
Barnard is out of custody on a $10,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4 in Marshall Circuit Court, with the Attorney General's Office of Special Prosecutions in charge of the prosecution, according to the report.If convicted, Barnard could face up to 20 years in prison.
