Burglary Arrest

Burglary Cuffs 300CADIZ, Ky. (7/28/14) — Cadiz Police received a complaint of a person trying to sell people a riding lawn mower on Mary White Blvd. July 24 at 11:30 a.m.

Major Duncan Wiggins responded to the complaint and got a physical description of the person. A person matching that description was located a short time later behind Barkley Manor Apartments. Tim J. Hunter, 51 of Cadiz, was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication and Criminal Trespass - Third Degree.

During a search of Hunter, police found a John Deere riding mower key. During this time, Trigg County Sheriff's Lt. Col. Dane Hughes received information that the theft may have occurred on Line Street.

Police were able to determine that Sue Mathis at 44 Line Street had a John Deere riding mower and leaf blower stolen from a shed. Both the mower and leaf blower were located by Major Wiggins s short time later in a wooded area near Mary White Blvd. Police also found an article of clothing of Hunter's on the mower.

Hunter was additionally charged with Burglary - Third Degree and Theft over $500.
