Foot Pursuit Ends with Arrest

foot-chaseDRAKESBORO, Ky. (7/28/14) — A foot pursuit ended with the arrest of a suspect and injuries for him and a Kentucky State Police Trooper Sunday, July 27 in Drakesboro.

According to a KSP report, Trooper Jon McGehee was on patrol on Frazier Street, when he made contact with Shaun C. Henry, 36, Drakesboro. McGehee observed Henry smoking marijuana. When McGehee approached Henry, Henry fled on foot behind a nearby residence. After a brief foot pursuit and altercation, McGehee apprehended Henry.

Henry was charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree fleeing and evading police on foot, resisting arrest, first-degree criminal mischief, failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation and public intoxication. Henry was transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital, where he was treated and released.

McGehee was treated for minor injuries on the scene by Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department.

Henry is being lodged in the Muhlenberg Detention Center.
